📝The Focus

Do you want to take your career to the next level? Whether you're a freelancer or seeking full-time work, social media can be a valuable tool for building your professional brand and landing new opportunities. With its real-time conversations, extensive networking capabilities, and global reach, social media can help you connect with like-minded professionals, showcase your expertise, and increase your visibility in your industry.

How to leverage Twitter for your professional brand

1) Optimize your profile:

Your Twitter profile should reflect your professional brand. Use a professional profile picture and header image, and write a bio that highlights your skills, experience, and expertise. Include relevant keywords to make it easier for others to find you.

2) Share valuable content:

Share articles, insights, and other content related to your industry or profession. Add your own commentary to show your expertise and insights on the topic.

3) Engage with others:

Engage with other professionals in your industry by commenting on their tweets, sharing their content, and participating in Twitter spaces or other industry events.

4) Network with others:

DMs can be a great way to network with other professionals in your industry. Reach out to people who you admire or who work in a similar field to start building relationships and making meaningful connections.

Tips from an expert Copywriter

Meet Liv, Senior Copywriter at ConsenSys - the leading Ethereum software company that enables developers, enterprises, and people worldwide to build next-generation applications, launch modern financial infrastructure, and access the decentralized web.

What advice do you have for someone just starting out in copywriting, and how can they gain valuable experience?

“My biggest piece of advice is to jump in. Find a DAO you like, join the Discord or community space, introduce yourself, and attend community calls. A lot of DAOs have onboarding sessions. Contribute in any way you can. It’s not always going to work out, meaning you may have to kiss a few DAO frogs before you find your DAO prince. Actually, frogs rule, so you might have to kiss a few traditional, hierarchical princes masked as DAOs before you find your dream Pet Frog DAO. I found my frogs in RADAR DAO and PoolTogether’s DAO. For writers, tally.xyz’s content guild, wonderverse.xyz, and violetverse.io are three great places to start.

Start building a portfolio that proves that you can write about crypto and web3. Even if you self-publish something on Mirror, Medium, or Substack, include it. My first article on crypto was posted on a tiny Medium publication and the day it was published, I was so proud. I had doubted my own ability to thrive in the crypto industry because I wasn’t a developer, along with other societal norms about who is successful in tech and finance. It turns out I knew so much more than I gave myself credit for. Looking back at that article, I’m still proud of it, and I’ve learned so much since then.

If you’re passionate about writing, web3, and learning, I have no doubt you’ll succeed with some patience and persistence.”
