📝The Focus:

The best candidates aren't always found through traditional job boards. Instead, they are often discovered through networking and being part of active communities.

Why you should join communities

By actively participating in professional communities, you can showcase your skills and expertise to potential employers and build valuable relationships with other professionals in your industry.

Being part of a community also allows you to stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and developments. This knowledge can be invaluable during job interviews and when applying for new positions. You’ll have access to a wealth of information and resources that will help you stand out from other applicants and succeed in your career.

Finally, being part of a community can also help you build your personal brand and reputation. When you regularly engage with other professionals in your industry, you’ll establish yourself as a thought leader and expert in your field. This can lead to new job opportunities and increased visibility within your industry.

Tips from an expert Community Manager

What inspired you to pursue a career in community management, and what are some of the key skills and qualities that someone in this role should possess?

“The inspiration of my career and passion for community management grew when I, together with my team, were building our green logistics company, where I handle sales and marketing as well as community building, bringing entrepreneur partners together to support sustainable practices and make a difference through their businesses partnered with the services that we provide. My passion and interest kept growing from there, and I found a way to bring them into the space. What I love about community management is the ability to create a vibe that gathers the tribe, and building meaningful relationships and connections that empowers one another.

In terms of qualities that are needed for community management, I think that communication, and adaptability are essential. A community manager needs to be able to effectively deliver their message to their audiences, and to listen actively to the needs and concerns of their constantly evolving community. As a community manager, we should be able to pivot quickly to meet new challenges while creating a safe space where people feel welcome, valued, and supported.”
