📝The Focus

With the rise of remote work, it's important to craft a winning resume that showcases your virtual work experience. While traditional resumes highlight your on-site work experience, remote work requires a different set of skills and experiences that can make you stand out from the competition.

Crafting a winning resume for remote work

1) Highlight your remote-work experience:

Make sure to list any virtual work experience you have, including freelance projects, remote jobs, or any other remote work you've done. If you don't have any remote-work experience, consider taking on some remote freelance projects to gain experience and build your resume.

2) Emphasize your communication skills:

Remote work requires strong communication skills, as you'll be working with team members and clients virtually. Make sure to highlight your communication skills on your resume, including any experience working with remote teams or clients. You should also mention any tools or platforms you're familiar with, such as Zoom or Slack, that are commonly used in remote-work environments.

If a job description notes a specific platform, such as those or Microsoft Teams, and you have experience using that platform, definitely include it on your resume when applying for the job!

3) Showcase your flexibility:

Remote work often requires flexibility, as you may need to adapt to different time zones, work schedules, or work environments. Make sure to showcase your flexibility on your resume, including any experience working across time zones or adapting to different work schedules.

4) Highlight your self-motivation:

Remote work requires self-motivation, as you'll need to stay focused and productive without the structure of a traditional office environment. Make sure to highlight your self-motivation on your resume, including any experience working independently or managing your own schedule. You should also mention any strategies or tools you use to stay motivated and productive while working remotely.

When creating your profile on CollabWORK, you can indicate your preference for remote work. This will let potential employers know that you're open to remote work opportunities and increase your chances of finding a job that fits your preferences.

In addition to indicating your preference for remote work, CollabWORK allows you to showcase your virtual work experience, communication skills, flexibility, and self-motivation, just like a winning resume. By providing a detailed profile on CollabWORK, you can highlight your skills and experience in the virtual work environment, making it easier for potential employers to find you and offer you the right remote work opportunities.

I feel a sense of purpose helping others to navigate the Web3 space and excited by the possibilities for what is to come. Coming from a managerial background in the hospitality industry, I have a love for people and it was a natural transition to a community role.
