📝The Focus
Salary negotiation can be a daunting task, especially if you don't have a clear understanding of your worth in the job market. As a job seeker, it's essential to have a good idea of the salary ranges for your desired role and industry, so you can enter negotiations with confidence and advocate for fair compensation.
How to conduct salary research like a pro
Start with job listings
Examine job listings in your field to get a rough idea of the salary ranges being offered. Keep in mind that these numbers can vary based on factors like location, company size, and industry.
Use salary comparison websites
Utilize salary comparison websites like Payscale, Glassdoor, and Salary.com. These platforms allow you to search for salary data based on job title, location, and years of experience.
Check professional associations
Professional associations often publish salary data for their respective industries. For instance, the American Marketing Association provides salary information for marketing professionals.
Network and connect
Talk to peers, mentors, or colleagues in your field to gather insights about salary ranges. They may have firsthand experience or knowledge that can help you determine appropriate expectations.
At CollabWORK, we require companies to be transparent about salaries on their job listings. This means that job seekers can easily see the salary range for a position before applying, giving them a clearer picture of the job and enabling them to make more informed decisions about their job search.
By requiring salary transparency, we’re helping to level the playing field for job seekers and promote a more transparent job market. Employers who use CollabWORK can also benefit from salary transparency, as it can lead to more efficient hiring processes and a better fit between the employer and employee.
If you're a job seeker who values salary transparency, be sure to check out CollabWORK, which prioritizes this important issue. By using our platform, you can ensure that you're applying to jobs that are transparent about their salaries, giving you a better chance of finding the right job at the right salary.

Tips from an expert Copywriter
Meet IIaria, Head of Copy & PR at MassiveMusic - an international music agency of record that delivers everything a brand needs in the field of music, voice and sound.
How do you approach the creative process when developing a new copywriting concept, and what techniques do you use to generate ideas?
“Contrary to what most copywriting books suggest, I rarely write outlines. They often limit my writing rather than support it. I prefer to start with a braindump, jotting down pieces of information or random lines about the project or article I’m working on before connecting them as pieces of the same puzzle.
Or, especially if I’m under a time constraint, I use the freewriting technique and write everything my intuition suggests in a stream-of-consciousness mode. I never write and edit at the same time. It’s too time- and energy-consuming. The first draft is there merely to exist. The editing phase comes later. That’s when I add data, stats and numbers, if needed, to support my thesis. The freewriting technique is a great one to generate ideas too. I usually set a 10-min timer and come up with as many as I can, bad ideas included. Without them, good ideas wouldn’t have a yardstick to compare with. They’d probably feel lonely too.”
